Effective from 2nd October 2017, Hong Kong/ Macau permanent residents who live in designed 27 locations can apply Taiwan multiple-entries permit through online system.
The multiple-entries permit is valid for One (1) or Three (3) years, can stay up to Three (3) months per entry. The purpose of multiple-entries has no limited.
For the residents who don’t live designed 27 locations, they still need to apply in person at Taipei Representative Office at their resident location.
What’s different?
In the past Hong Kong & Macau permanent residents can only apply single-entry permit to Taiwan through the National Immigration Agency’s online platform. Multiple-entries permit must apply in person to the Taipei Representative Office.
Now Hong Kong & Macau permanent resident can apply multiple-entries permit through the online platform, which valid for One (1) or Three (3) year(s).
Obtaining a visa upon arrival in Taiwan remains an option.
Applicant Eligibility
- Applicant has Hong Kong permanent residency qualification and does not hold any British National (Overseas) passport or other nationality passport
- Applicant has Macao permanent residence, and does not hold other nationality passport OR holds Portuguese passport, but obtained before the Portuguese end of governance.
